Directions Helps Raise $4,000 in Fight to Find a Cure For Diabetes

NEENAH, Wis., May 18, 2010—Directions Incorporated, a full-service integrated marketing communications and packaging agency based in Neenah, Wis., recently raised more than $4,000 in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF).

To support the JDRF Northeast Wisconsin Chapter's 2010 Walk to Cure Diabetes, held on Saturday, May 15, in Neenah, Directions created a challenge for all employees called "Lap Around the Lunch Room." By dividing employees into four teams — red, green, blue and yellow — employees were encouraged to fundraise through the help of their family, friends and neighbors by selling Walk to Cure Diabetes paper shoes or by making a personal contribution.

More than $1,000 was raised by Directions staff, which was then matched by Kristine Sexton, Directions' owner. Walkers from Directions joined the Menasha Corporation team, Corporate Sponsor of the local Walk, which matched the combined donations, making the final total $4,290.

"For the millions of people living with this devastating disease, a cure is one step closer due to the generosity of everyone here at Directions as well as this year's Corporate Sponsor, Menasha Corporation," said Patti Nelson, director of sales and marketing for Directions. "Thank you all for stepping up to help find a cure."

JDRF is the worldwide leader in funding research to cure type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly and lasts a lifetime. JDRF is the world's largest charitable funder and advocate for diabetes research. For more information, visit www.jdrf.org.
